What is ARP/ASP? – ARP/ASP क्या होता है और रिटेल में इसका महत्व

1. परिचय (Introduction):

Retail business mein performance measurement bahut important hota hai. ARP aur ASP jaise metrics manager ko yeh samajhne mein madad karte hain ki ek customer average kitne paise kharch kar raha hai. Aaiye inhe detail mein samjhte hain.

2. ARP/ASP Kya Hota Hai?

ARP (Average Retail Price) aur ASP (Average Selling Price) do important financial indicators hote hain jo yeh batate hain ki aapke products kis price point par sell ho rahe hain.


  • ARP (Average Retail Price):
    Yeh ek product ka average MRP hota hai. Agar ek product ki MRP ₹500 hai, dusre ki ₹600, teesre ki ₹400, to inka ARP hoga:
    (500 + 600 + 400) ÷ 3 = ₹500
  • ASP (Average Selling Price):
    Yeh batata hai ki actual mein products kitne mein beche ja rahe hain. Discounts ke baad jo average selling price banta hai, wahi ASP kehlata hai.
    Jaise agar upar wale products respectively ₹450, ₹550, ₹380 mein bika, to:
    (450 + 550 + 380) ÷ 3 = ₹460

3. Retail Example:

Maan lijiye aap ek fashion retail store mein Assistant Manager hain. Agar kisi month mein aapka ARP ₹1000 tha, aur ASP ₹850, to iska matlab yeh hai ki aap average 15% discount de rahe hain.

4. Business Importance:

  • ARP vs ASP se discount trends samajh aate hain.
  • ASP zyada hone ka matlab — achha margin.
  • ARP zyada hone ke bawajood agar ASP kam ho, to discount strategy rethink karni chahiye.
  • Reporting tools (like Oracle, SAP, Ginesys) mein yeh data regularly track hota hai.
